Brother Norman Ess Funeral.

Brethren, it is with great sorrow that I report the passing of a Great American and Hero. Bro. Norman H. Ess, a 60+ year Mason and beloved member of Charles W. Anderson Lodge No. 1413 has laid down his working tools of life and passed on to that celestial lodge above. Bro. Norm was raised in Forest Park Lodge No. 578 on Feb 25 th , 1946 shortly after returning from World War II. Bro. Norm was a triple “Ace” from World War II, Korea and Vietnam. We will all miss the many stories that Bro. Norm had to offer.  His funeral will be on Wednesday, 1 May 2013, at 1:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Bro. Elliott B. Samuels will be the Funeral Master. Bro. Norm has asked that only a Masonic Service be conducted and has opted not to have a Military Service.  He also asked that all the women present be dressed in colorful Spring or Fiesta apparel. He wants to celebrate his life and not morn his death.   Dennis Lafferty District Deputy Grand Master, Masonic D...

Norm Ess update

Brethren, Bro.  Norm Ess has been moved back to Regent Care (Oakwell Farms). He is in Room 308A now and is able to have visitors. His son, Terry, went back to South Carolina today and will return in 2 weeks. He asks that we visit his Dad and give him some company while he is gone.  I will continue to keep you updated as things change.  I visited him this morning before Terry left and Norm is in good spirits. He knows the end is near and that he will go when it is time.   Fraternally Yours,   Dennis Lafferty   Cell Phone: © 210-710-5907 Email:  P3@satx.rr.com               Secretarycwa1413@att.net

Brother Norm Ess

Brother Norman “Norm” Ess has been moved from BAMC to the Regents Center (Oakwell Farms), Room 210, 8501 Laurens Lane, San Antonio. His cancer is out of control and he is now in Hospice Care.  He will probably never be back in lodge again and he really wants to come back at least one more time.  He is weak and tires easily, but he appreciates every visitor.  So, if your able and take the time…Please go see Norm and stay for 30 minutes or less if you can.  His son, Terry, is in town and will be here for a week or so. Then he’ll return to SC and come back once he clears up a few things.   Again, please go see Norm if you can.   Fraternally Yours,   Dennis Lafferty District Deputy Grand Master, Masonic District 39-B Secretary, Charles W.
