The Honorable Stuart Simms laid down his working tools

 Honorable Brethren,

The Honorable Stuart Simms laid down his working tools Monday, September 7.  He was a member of Cibolo Lodge #151, The York Rite, The Commandery, The Scottish Rite, and Alzafar Shrine where is was a Past Potentate and served as treasurer.  He loved his work with the Shrine helping the children through their hospitals.  He served as board member of the Galveston Shriners Hospital.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212

Due to COVID restrictions a private committal service will be held at the Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery on September 21.

There will be a memorial service at Alzafar Shrine on October 3, at 2:00 PM with a reception following. We will celebrate a life lived with integrity and honor in the finest tradition of the U.S. Army. Stuart’s love for all things Scottish will be front and center with the support of the Alzafar Highlanders.  Kilts are encouraged but not required.

Brethren, please join in a prayer of thanksgiving for our brother Stuart Simms, and that God would comfort his sister Cheryl Gamez and family in their loss.  He touched many lives through his Masonic involvement but especially the children through the Shrine.
