David Counts Tribute

David Counts Tribute   David Counts will be honored by Orient Masonic Lodge #905 in a special tribute on Saturday June 22 in Knox City TX. The event will begin at 6 pm and will be held in the newly completed Community Center. Earlier in the day, the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas will officially lay the corner stone of the community center. The tribute will follow the pattern of the 1980’s Dean Martin Man of the Hour celebrity roasts, but organizers have promised Counts that they will make every effort to find speakers who will also say nice things about the honoree.   Counts maintains a real estate business in Knox City and for many years also operated Counts Insurance Agency there. He also served in the Texas Legislature and is a retired General in the Texas Guard. He is a past master of Orient Masonic Lodge #905 and is currently serving as Master of Tranquility Lodge 2000. Anderson Lodge No. 1413 has laid down his working tools of life and passed on to that celestial lodge above. Bro. Norm was raised in Forest Park Lodge No. 578 on Feb 25 th , 1946 shortly after returning from World War II. Bro. Norm was a triple “Ace” from World War II, Korea and Vietnam. We will all miss the many stories that Bro. Norm had to offer.  His funeral will be on Wednesday, 1 May 2013, at 1:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Bro. Elliott B. Samuels will be the Funeral Master. Bro. Norm has asked that only a Masonic Service be conducted and has opted not to have a Military Service.  He also asked that all the women present be dressed in colorful Spring or Fiesta apparel. Norm Ess update

Brethren, Bro.  Norm Ess has been moved back to Regent Care (Oakwell Farms). He is in Room 308A now and is able to have visitors. His son, Terry, went back to South Carolina today and will return in 2 weeks. He asks that we visit his Dad and give him some company while he is gone.  I will continue to keep you updated as things change.  I visited him this morning before Terry left and Norm is in good spirits. He knows the end is near and that he will go when it is time.   Fraternally Yours,   Dennis Lafferty   Cell Phone: © 210-710-5907 Email:  P3@satx.rr.com               Secretarycwa1413@att.net
